The current pattern of the Rising Sun Badge was introduced to service in 1991 & is the 7th iteration. The Federation Star & heraldic wreath were removed. The inscription on the scroll was changed to “The Australian Army”. The badge is officially labelled the Australian Army badge, although it will always be known as the Rising Star badge.
