Howard William Steer is a well known artist living in Broken Hill, an outback town in western New South Wales.  Howard is known as one of the “brushmen of the bush” and has developed the foundation for what he calls “Story Art, where each painting tells its own story.  The “Flying Doctor” series featuring a winged, black-suited saviour complete with top hat and bag. Howard’s style is classified as naive realism.
